Delma Martin's love for art has always been within her.  She has enjoyed the beauty of the artwork in Taos, N.M. for years.  Trips to New Orleans stole her heart while visiting.  She fell in love with Blue Dog, along with many other great pieces of local art.  Delma did not take her own art seriously until late in life, and now she finds it hard to put her paint brushes down. Delma paints primarily with acrylic paints on canvas.  When asked, where does your inspiration come from, she simply answers, from within.  Delma prefers to paint in her home located in Edmond, Oklahoma. In her Edmond, Oklahoma art Studio you can expect to see very bright and energy intense paintings covering the walls on all sides.

She paints what she feels, so it might be someone else's pain from an addiction or the loss of a loved one, or three red rats drinking beer.  No one ever knows what will show up on Delma's easel, not even Delma Martin herself.  Her moods just simply come out on canvas, creating for her a form of art therapy, or escape from the world around us. Most of Delma's art tells a story.  After years of not letting her love for art be known she has recently decided to share it with the world.  Delma's art has generated such a positive response, that Delma finds it encouraging and uplifting to paint the next mystery piece.  Delma often says that she enjoys watching peoples response to her art, as much as she does when she sits down to paint a art piece.  The great thing about mood painting is that your able to lift your spirits by putting yourself high the sky with the buzzards or in the hen house gathering eggs, there is no place you can't go when your painting the world you want to be in.  There is no end to what pleasure an artist feels when completing or in the process of painting an art piece. You can be in a blah mood and come out of the studio and feeling as if you just had a face lift.

Delma's art gallery is well stocked with a wide variety of paintings that are assured to strike your fancy. Some say that the frequent trips to New Orleans defined Delma's art style known as the "The New Orleans Feel"  This is something that Delma takes as a honor and compliment  She says, “I like to think that there is a little bit of New Orleans in all of us". Thank you so much for your thoughtful consideration in visiting Delma's online gallery.  Perhaps you will be inspired to pick up a brush and paint your mood, or paint a world that only exist in your mind, that is safe and brings harmony to your life.
